About me

My journey
I have experienced a wide variety of educational establishments since graduating from The University of Brighton with a degree in Sports Coaching and Development.

I would be interested in collaborating with other teachers who share my passion for physical education.

Inspiring Educators
Since starting full-time employment in schools during 2010, I have been extremely fortunate to work with some fantastic PE Teachers and Heads of Departments. I continue to strive to help students and colleagues with their development too. A special mention to Kevin Ford, Steve Goodright, Daniel Gooch, Greg Boult and Chris Jepsen.
Chris Jepsen, in particular, has made a considerable contribution to the planning, writing and filming of the challenges used on this website.

My
Philosophy
Physical Education develops pupils’ physical competence and confidence and their ability to use these to perform in a range of activities. It promotes skillfulness, physical development and knowledge of the body in action. Physical education provides opportunities for pupils to be creative, competitive, cooperative and face up to different challenges as individuals and in groups and teams.

Our young people too often experience a crisis of purpose, identity and inactivity. I believe it is a PE teacher's professional obligation to provide high-quality, exciting provision which inspires individuals to develop physical competence and confidence.

With elite athletes and competition given record media attention, this is an exciting time in our industry.
